I woke at 7:32. my head was killing me. through a small gap by the courtains a beam of light pierced my eye. it hurt and i could not sleep for another 3 hours. as i woke again, the house smelled of fresh paint. the sun was still there and my computer is still broken. before repairing it one has to make a backup. i find this file on the disc, says something about william s. burroughs. it is broken. you can see things but they come repetitive with noize and gaps. just this morning. i thought about people as vessels for demons, angels, strange entities using the human mind to dwell. we don´t notice them. because they use the 90% of the unused brainmatter and produce feelings you think of as your own. as ontological symbionts, they give you ideas, some think it´s the unconcious. but it is not.  as i press the apple-v keys to reapeat the scentence “I will no longer copy and paste boring art” think of something else. 3 days later they put the original baldessari online. i want to stay alone now. at this very moment the VLC tries to recover the broken burroughs file. it seems it somehow crashed the programm. i feel bruised but calm. my feet are still white. i suspected earlier, my skin absorbed the paints´ chemicals and influenced my refelexive zones. leading to pain and no sleep. pain and no sleep. L comes downstaires and i´m on his little screen. it is me yesterday, in the same room i am now. i have no pants on. definitly not thinking about writers. we try to connect our pasts via bluetooth. i try to reproduce the present. its like fucking plastic women. about 48% to go. it´s 15:54. 16:25 i go down the cellar. i want to videotape every moment in seach of ghosts. maybe the broken file caused them. half the way down, the battery is gone. only minutes later the phones´ charging cable somehow disconnects the harddisc. have to repair burroughs again. outside the house. the plastic cover on sofa makes a strange sound. it sounds as somebody would do it. not the wind. art fags will listen. btw. sms yesterday: Art fags will prix ars it! ONE MORE TRY! ONE MORE TRY! burroughs ghost will not destroy this file! 16:35 i send the photos to computer. no entities!  16:42. another video. the pain is better now. im eating. reminds me of this dream i once had. i look my mobile and a picture of myself is on it. not an internal camera taking the pictures. its medial recreation, i move, i see me moving like a different person on screen. 17:00 sharp, calling ivana but she doesn´t pic up. avi of file index ca. 38%. is time collapsing around me? when am i? confused. later arroused. my mind is not stable anymore. if time collapses, mind collapses. we seem like tomographs, scanning a playful universe slice by slice, perceiving rot as time. my perception of body distorted. legs feel small. head cloudy. another mobile pic helps. it pleases the burroughs file

Die Sache mit der Wirklichkeit
Wenn ich mir auf der Leinwand King Kong ansehe - ich meine den alten, melancholischen Affen aus dem Film von 1933 - wie er mit kantigen Bewegungen auf der Spitze eines New Yorker Wolkenkratzers balancierend die ihn umkreisenden Flugzeuge wie lästige Fliegen vom Himmel fängt, dann verstehe ich die Welt wieder. Ich weiß zwar, dass der Film so tut, als sei er realistisch, doch gleichzeitig lässt er mich nie im Glauben, dass es sich um etwas anderes als um eine imaginierte Realität handelt.

Das macht ja den Reiz von Kunst aus: dass sie eben nicht abbildet, dass sie nicht eine gesellschaftliche beziehungsweise politische Wirklichkeit spiegelt oder nachzeichnet oder beschreibt, sondern dass sie Unterschiede in der Wahrnehmung von Welt erfahrbar macht.

Da Kunst die Wirklichkeit außerhalb des Kunstwerks bearbeitet, verformt oder umkehrt und daraus eine eigene, kunstimmanente Wirklichkeit schafft, sensibilisiert sie das Publikum für die feinen Unterschiede zwischen Sein und Schein. Vor allem aber widerspricht die Kunst dem Objektivitätsgebot und damit der Vorstellung, es gäbe eine eindeutig darstellbare Wirklichkeit.

Medien, allen voran das Fernsehen, machen das genaue Gegenteil: sie vermitteln imaginierte Realität als Wirklichkeit. Das Problem dabei ist nur: niemand kann mehr die Wirklichkeit von der Imagination unterscheiden oder, anders ausgedrückt, die Lüge von der Wahrheit. Die Grenzen sind nicht nur fließend, sie sind aufgehoben.

Wenn etwa ein Reporter vor der Kulisse Bamakos, Lahores oder Manilas seinen Bericht in die Kamera spricht, dann handelt es sich um nichts anderes als um die Simulation von Authentizität. Denn erstens kann ich als Zuseher den Wahrheitsgehalt des Gesagten nicht überprüfen. Es wird von mir verlangt, dass ich dem Reporter blind vertraue. Warum? Bloß weil er so schlecht angezogen ist, dass man ihn vor Ort nicht sofort als Reporter erkennt?

Zweitens gibt es keinen Grund anzunehmen, dass dieser Reporter ins Flugzeug steigt, und bereits nach ein paar Stunden in Mali, Pakistan oder auf den Philippinen die ganze Komplexität eines Konflikts durchschaut hat. Er ist also selbst auf Informationen aus zweiter, dritter und vierter Hand angewiesen. Und drittens: was ist der Mehrwert eines zweiminütigen Berichts über eine Krise, von der ich als Fernsehzuschauer letztlich nur weiß, dass es sie gibt?

Die Antwort ist eindeutig: es geht nicht um Information, es geht um die Illusion von Information. Es ist vollkommen gleichgültig, was der Reporter erzählt und welche Bilder die Kamera einfängt - Fernsehen will einfach demonstrieren, dass es omnipräsent und deshalb mächtig ist. Ich muss nichts mehr wissen, um etwas zu wissen. Information ist von Inhalten abgekoppelt. Das ist wie in der Politik: Macht wird nicht durch die Vermittlung von Inhalten geschaffen, sondern durch Omnipräsenz. Genauer gesagt: durch die Illusion von Omnipräsenz. Das ist ja das Geheimnis von Populisten wie Nicholas Sarkozy oder Silvio Berlusconi: Macht als Folge der Inszenierung der Wirklichkeit, in der man als politischer Führer ständig bei den Menschen ist, ohne es leibhaftig zu sein: als Medienikone, als Dauergesprächsthema, als Skandalon, als Ärgernis, als Traum- und Alptraumerscheinung. Das ist wie die Sache mit Gott, den auch niemand kennt und den man sich dennoch als ständig Anwesenden vorzustellen hat - selbst oder gerade dann, wenn man nicht an ihn zu glauben bemüht ist.

Inhalte sind gleichgültig und austauschbar, das gilt für die Politik wie für die Medien. Warum? Weil beide die Vorgabe, mit Wirklichkeit zu handeln, nicht erfüllen können. Beide können ihre Existenz nur durch die Lüge rechtfertigen, indem sie die Macht simulieren, zu jeder Zeit den Wirklichkeitsmarkt zu steuern. Doch auf diesem Markt ist nichts zu erwerben, nicht einmal heiße Luft. Insofern hat Karl-Heinz Grasser seinerzeit seine Rolle als Politiker richtig erkannt: er forderte die Bürger auf, sich nach einer Steuerreform entlastet zu fühlen.

Natürlich hat die Bürger niemand entlastet, so wie nichts darauf hindeutet, dass Gesellschaften demokratischer werden oder es den Entwicklungsländern besser geht. Aber das hat Politik ja gar nicht im Sinn. Wir sollen einfach daran glauben wie an Orakelsprüche, glauben, dass die Regierung arbeitet, Tag und Nacht, für uns Menschen, glauben, dass Macht ein unbegreifbares Phänomen ist, dass man einer Handvoll Menschen überantwortet wie einem Gott, der schon das Richtige für uns alle tun wird. So lange uns die Medien davon überzeugen, dass die Hölle in Mali, Pakistan oder auf den Philippinen ist und damit außerhalb der Sichtweite, soll uns das Recht sein.

Man fühlt sich einwenig wie ein Outlaw hier und ein Hauch von Aussteigerromantik liegt im Garten und auch beim Sperrmüll hinterm Haus. Alles in 25 Minuten von Stadtinneren erreichbar, weswegen wohl kein Vergleich mit Fightclub zulässig ist. Im Bademantel sitze ich und wärme mich an meinem neuen mobilen Internet, alle Sachen stehen noch in Kisten herum. Am Morgen werden mir ein Strauß  fast matschiger Bananen ins Bett geworfen, der Haken hält die Haustür an einer kleinen Öse fest damit der Wind sie nicht aufbläßt. Die Uhr an der muffigen Wohnzimmerwand tickt schon lange nicht mehr und zeigt ein Portrait von Charles und Diana beim Heiraten. Diese Landschaften werde ich bald abhängen die machen mich fertig, bei der Pumpgun aus Plastiksilber bin ich nicht sicher. Meine Finger sind mittlerweile rot und eiskalt. Es gibt noch kein Warmwasser und ich muss das modrige Geschirr abwaschen. Leo rennt derweill im Garten auf und ab, er redet energisch mit dem Vater. Ein paar Sonnenstrahlen auf dem Kleiderhalter und den Regenschirmen. Liegt der Erfolg im der guten Arbeit oder am Networking? Hoffe bei der guten Arbeit, weil im organisieren bin ich ganz schlecht
